Tae Kwon Do

The best students make the best school

What is Tae Kwon Do?

Taekwondo is a Korean art of self-defense. In recent years, it has become a global sport and is now recognized as an official Olympic game by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Translated literally, "Tae" stands for feet (leg) of iron rod and means to kick or squash with foot. "Kwon" stands for fist (hand) of iron hammer and means to block, punch, strike or destroy with hand. "Do" stands for art or way and means the mastery of mind over body. So "Tae Kwon Do" means the art of kicking, blocking, and punching.
